Back in Thai-m

Last week I travelled back in Thai-m. My BFF Rachel and I were having withdrawals from our trip to Thailand in ’07, so we booked an escape to our local Thai spa, The Raven, in Silverlake. It was almost like being there again; an amazing massage in a rustic teak filled room while being serenaded by Sanskrit chant. Heaven on earth. It made me think back to our time navigating the streets of Bangkok, riding elephants, getting burned on the ferry, daily massages, delicious curries, and then there was that incident with the monkey on Koh Lanta. Hmmm.

Our R&R Adventure was made possible thanks to my college bud Jeany, who was living there for a year. She showed us Thailand from a residents point of view; parading us through local markets, forcing us to eat unidentifiable street food, and of course giving us the in on the best foot massage spots.

I have thus dedicated the week to Thailand by revisiting my memories and sharing with you all my fave Thai spots around town. Share your Thai favorites too by dropping us a tweet @theculturedseed.
